The Adventures of Super Jon!

One of the biggest reasons that I blog (or try to) is so that I never forget moments like these! Jon wanted to be a super hero today, so we turned their amazing aprons that our friend made them inside out (they're red on one side/Thomas the Tank Engine on the other) and put them on backwards, tada! They're superheroes!! Here's some of their adventures:

Fingerpainting (or is it Finger Painting?)

I've been considering doing some fingerpainting (for now we'll consider it one word!) with Jon for a few months, but I was afraid it would be a royal mess, so I kept putting it off. I had, however, been doing some comparison shopping. So, when the Crayola washable kind was on sale at Kroger for $4.50, I knew that was a deal. I snatched it up right in front of Jon, who was obviously quite curious. That was yesterday...we've had good, fairly clean fun twice since then. Here are some pics from the first fingerpainting expedition:

Photo Tag

I’ve been tagged by my friend Jen Potter on her blog It's A Wonderful Life in a post called “Photo Tag”. Here were the rules:

This is Jon in August of 2007, right around when he turned 2. It's funny because he still has and wears that hat and those sunglasses. What's crazy to me is that while those magnets are still up on our fridge, we don't live in that house anymore. In this picture we had lived in that house for just over a year...the house that my dad built for us. And we thought we'd live there for a long, long time, but God had other plans. Now, we're over 500 miles away from that labor of love and the one who built it. I really miss living near my parents and brothers, a lot. But I am confident that God has brought us here and I really am enjoying living in Ohio again. I wonder what He has in store for us in 2009?

Hilarious...

...at least it is to me! Sam has decided that when he wants to answer in the affirmative (yes) that he's going to click his tongue instead. He must have dreamt about joining an African tribe last night. I asked him a few questions after he ate an M&M and managed to get a little taste of his tribalness for you. Enjoy! It's funnier if you know that he can and does say "yes" and "yeah" often. He's just decided today, to use the old tongue click instead. So, so random!
