Neighborhood Fun

Sam in a friend's bike helmet, eyeing a big bike

Tuesday evening was gorgeous...high 60's and sunny. We walked down to our neighbor's house and had fun with them and others from our neighborhood who stopped by as they were strolling around. Here's a few pics to sum it up:
Nancy made hopscotch for the kids

the men played a little basketball

Nancy pulling the kite while the kids chased her

I just wanted to put in a plug for our friends who started a t-shirt company. These aren't just t-shirts though...check them out for yourselves and see. I also wanted to say that these guys are selling high quality products and are trustworthy people. Check out their stuff here: www.rocket-t's.com

Steal of a Deal

I love when seasons change and you get to break out the clothes for the new season. It's something different and fresh as opposed to the cothes that you've been wearing over and over for the past several months. I also love shopping and getting a bargain. While my husband does not like spending money, I get a rush from buying something that I know could have cost so much more. For that reason, I'm so thankful that I live where I do now. We are less that a half hour away from a GREAT outlet mall and 15 minutes from a really good Gabriel Brothers. (If you're not familiar with Gabe's, it's similar to TJ Maxx or Rugged Wearhouse, but ours has a direct feed from an Ann Taylor Loft and a few other great stores. I frequently get Ann Taylor stuff for myself for $5-$20 each!) Today, the boys and I went to the Children's Place outlet and I bought 14 tops--some dressy, some long-sleeved t's--for the boys (12 for Jon, 2 for Sam--poor kid will be wearing hand-me-down's his whole life!) for less than $45. And that's not the best trip I've had...last summer I got adjustable waist jeans for the boys for under $2 a piece. It's amazing. And so fun for me! Anyway...just thought I'd share my fun and possibly entice those of you who live far away...come visit, we can go shopping! :)

Anniversary Getaway!

Many of you have facebook and have already seen the pics, but some don't so here's the latest and greatest from us: Pete and I celebrated our anniversary a couple weeks early this year. His parents came and stayed with the boys so that we could get away for the weekend. It was SO nice. We went to Indianapolis. It was so fun. The Big Ten NCAA Men's basketball tourney was going on while we were there, so we decided if Ohio State made it to either of Saturday's games, we'd get tickets and go. They did and we did and it was a blast. Saturday morning we stumbled upon an alumni event/pep rally at Champps (a sports bar). As we were entering, so was Eddie George--former Buckeye, Heisman winner, former NFL player--so we got to meet him, get autographs and pictures taken. Also, the pep band, cheerleaders and Brutus were there, so we joined in on a few OSU favs. It was really fun. Then we shopped for a bit, ate some lunch and were off to see the game. We were playing Michigan State the #1 seed in the Big Ten, but we beat them by 12!! It was a fun game for us Buckeye fans! :) Not so much for the MSU fans that were sitting all around us(still don't know how our tickets got us in the MSU section?!). After the game, we enjoyed some downtime at Borders before meeting up with our good friends, the Browns. We ate some delicious grub with them, then winded up going back to their house to play Euchre. Mucho funo! :) Sunday, Pete and I slept in, had breakfast and headed back to our kiddos. It was such a refreshing weekend...uninterrupted conversations and being responsible for only ourselves was such a treat! And being reunited with the kiddos has been great too! :)

Super Sam

This boy is all boy...he is constantly trying to do EVERYTHING that his big brother does. For instance, at the doctor's appointment today, he was climbing into the chair and trying to color in an activity book--just like Jon. He managed to do it a few times, but would often drop either the crayon or the book and have to climb down and start again. While the doctor was seeing us, Sam managed to fall twice--once onto his bottom (not a big deal) and then onto his head. At least there was a doctor there, right? He's fine, but there were tears shed that time. Here's his stats from our visit: weight: 28 lbs. 6 ounces = 80% height: 35 3/4 inches = way off the charts! crazy kid!
